Network devices

This post follows a request to the Tango mailing list, about creating icons for the Open-Audit application. Various icons for network equipments are needed.

The list of icons for this kind of applications is pretty large, ranging from port switches, print server, firewall, SAN to blade servers. So, I drew a couple of icons and sent them to the mailing list. Then I scratched my (mostly bold) head and figured that some kind of library was actually needed. This is a preview of the icons set:

The idea would be to use a first set of icons as a basis (empty racks and enclosures) and draw the needed icons with the help of a second set of hardware components (disks, grids, buttons, display screens, leds, …). Let’s see how this idea goes …

    Very nice…
    The development (SVN) version of Open Audit now incorporates a slightly basic Network Diagram drawing capability, and these icons will certainly help. Excellent work.

    Now how do I get PHP to meld all of the SVG bits together…. 😉
